If so, please provide us with a copy of his/her report card and The First Tee will reconize them as being a part of the AB Honor Roll. As part of this recognition, The First Tee will send your child a personalized award for his/her outstanding work in the classroom.

Post-Season Underway The Post-Season session is underway!

USGA Grant Awarded The United States Golf Association (USGA) has awarded The First Tee of Washington DC with a $20,000 grant for 2008!
The First Tee of Washington DC would like to thank the USGA for their generosity and support.
Without organizations like the USGA, The First Tee of Washington DC would not be able to provide such a high quality education and golf program.
Putting and Politics Recap The Third Annual Putting and Politics Reception was held on Tuesday, September 23rd. Held at the Citi Roof-Top Terrace, the event was attended by nearly 200 people with special guests Majority Whip James Clyburn (SC) and Senator Saxby Chambliss (GA). Five students from The First Tee of Washington D.C. were recognized for their achievements and participation with the program. The First Tee of Washington D.C. would like to thank Citi for hosting the event as well as all of our event sponsors for making this event successful for the third straight year!
Putting and Politics in WGR Newsletter Women in Government Relations (WGR) and Women’s Congressional Golf Association (WCGA) presented the First Tee of Washington, DC with a $16,000 check at the 3rd Annual First Tee Putting and Politics Reception on Tuesday, September 23, 2008.
The event was highlighted in an article written in the WGR October 2008 Newsletter.
Jimmy Garvin - "Golf's Pied Piper" Jimmy Garvin is the general manager of Langston Golf Course and the president of the Langston Legacy Golf Corp. As a partner with The First Tee of Washington D.C and several other youth organizations, Garvin has been able to grow golf in the minority community.
Remembering Gene Upshaw The late Gene Upshaw was an Honarary Board Member with The First Tee of Washington D.C.
His passing brings the Chapter great sadness and he will truly be missed.
19th Hole Roast of Bill Scott Chevy Chase Country Club hosted our first annual "19th Hole Reception" on Tuesday, June 17, 2008. This year was a Roast on our Chairman, Bill Scott. Chairs Larry Lamade, Glenn Mitchell & Burke Hayes led the affair and over 80 guests attended.
Roasters Bob Dolan, Joe Coffey, Glenn Mitchell, Tim Columbus & Burke Hayes with a special appearance from Josh Hartman told stories of much humor & fun. Emcee Pat Haggerty honored us with his wit and style throughout the evening.
Proceeds are going to start the Bill Scott fund to further develop the mission of The First Tee.
