Empowering and Inspiring Girls through Golf

“Since our girls have joined the golf program, it has provided them with an opportunity to build their confidence, enhance their team working skills and help them become better leaders.”
– Jan, LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Parent

We’re all about the  FUNdamentals  of golf. We pride ourselves on infusing fun and opportunities to be social into their programming to keep girls engaged and enjoying the game. Often this means putting down the 7 iron and having a golf fashion show, or cutting the drills short to make time for a pizza party. After all, golf is a game right?! We take our job of making it fun seriously!

Membership is free, registration is still required to participate in the program.  Once registration is complete girls will receive a membership kit (equipped with Girls Golf logoed accessories).

LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Presents:

Fishing Clinic on the Anacostia River

Aquatic Resources Education Center (Anacostia Park) and Boat Dock

1900 Anacostia Drive, SE (North end inside of Anacostia Park)

Happy Summer LPGA-USGA Girls!  We’re celebrating our second annual Fishing Clinic on the Anacostia River.  Here’s your chance to learn more about our river system and how to fish in our waterways. Our river systems are great places to fish and to enjoy lots of river activities.

Our group will meet at the Aquatic Resource Education Center (AREC) next door to the Anacostia Pavilion.  Inside we’ll have an hour long tour of this amazing facility complete with animals found in and around the Anacostia watershed.  This mini-aquarium features species indigenous to our river including fish, turtles, lizards, and more.  Learn more about how to care for our environment and how we can make our river a place to enjoy for a lifetime.  Bring your camera for great photos of the tour!

After our tour we’ll gather with angling instructors ready to teach us how to use the gear, how to bait our hook and how to successfully snag a fish!  The method of catch-and-release will be shown along with safety precautions and see first hand what kinds of fish are taking the bait!

Fishing gear, bait and instructions are included.  Children 15 years and younger do not need a fishing license to fish.  Everyone 16 years and older must have a valid fishing license to fish.  Families can also bring their lawn chair and their own gear to fish from the river side after the event.  Bring snacks, a water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray.  Be comfortable and wear light clothing.  We’ll take a group photo before we leave!

You must register for this event.  The event is limited to 12 girls.  Registration begins Monday, July 1.

eLeader Program

We offer a volunteer program for girls ages 13-17.  To learn more about the eLeader program click here.

We create experiences that help girls fall in love with the game.

Our Girls Only opportunities make learning the game fun, social, and less-intimidating for girls who are just starting out, or want to play with other girls who share their interest in the game.

Sometimes it’s NOT about Golf!

A typical Girls Golf event could include anything from hitting marshmallows out of a bunker, taking a field trip to a professional golf tournament, or hosting a pirate-themed golf competition. Yep, that’s right – pirates! Creativity is Queen when it comes to Girls Golf, and we’re not afraid to think outside of the box!
